The years 5 and 6 students, with bags in hand, undertook a clean-up along the busy road, along with Bicentennial Park and the city’s touch football fields, this week.
Boxes, bags, bottles and cans were the most common items, much of the rubbish finding its way into recycling bins.
It was part of Catholic Schools Week, which started on Sunday, involving more than 600 Catholic primary and secondary schools across NSW and the ACT.
The theme for this year revolves around the importance of community work and involvement, the students of St Edward’s deciding improving the appearance of their surrounds was a good contribution.
