8:25am: TWO people have been granted bail over their involvement in an affray that saw a mob chase down and attack a man in broad daylight in Armidale.

8.05am:Thunderbolts Way 45km north of Gloucester is now open.Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) had closed the road on Tuesday for a salvage operation to retrieve a truck involved in a serious accident in early February.
The operation was expected to take two days, but was completed earlier than expected and the road was reopened late on Tuesday.

7:45am: A 21-year-old man has suspended himself from a tripod this morning, blocking the gates to Whitehaven Coal’s coal rail loader at Gunnedah, as a group of people gather to protest the company's plans for a coal mine at Maules Creek.
A spokesperson for the protesters says the man has travelled from Victoria where his brother is fighting the coal seam fire at Hazelwood.
7.35am: Tributes continue to flow in for Australia's first Olympic female equestrian rider, Bridget 'Bud' Hyem of Carroll (near Gunnedah) who died at the age of 81 this week. More here

Officers say up to 12 protesters are blocking access to a coal loading facility on the Boggabri Rd.

The North West Slopes and Plains forecast from the Bureau of Meteorology: Patchy fog on the southern slopes early in the morning. Mostly sunny day. Winds east to northeasterly 15 to 20 km/h tending north to northeasterly in the morning then becoming light in the middle of the day. Overnight temperatures falling to between 13 and 20 with daytime temperatures reaching around 30.
The Northern Tablelands forecast from the Bureau of Meteorology: Partly cloudy. Patchy fog early in the morning. Isolated showers in the north in the morning and early afternoon. Winds east to northeasterly 15 to 20 km/h becoming light before dawn. Overnight temperatures falling to between 9 and 16 with daytime temperatures reaching 23 to 29.
