Ater bowling Kingscliff out for 137, Farrer reached the revised 32-over total of 116 six wickets down.
It finished 6-118, with Toby Whale unbeaten on 18 and Harrison George one.
Openers Jack Richards and Campbell Baker gave the chase a solid base with a 37-run opening partnership.
They had a brief hiccup, with Corey Sommers following next ball after Richards (20) but Baker (11) and Ryan Hansen steadied the ship.
They put on 24 for the third wicket.
Hansen and Sam Brown (11) then added 32 for the fourth to consolidate Farrer’s position and take it within sight of victory.
Hansen batted well and was Farrer’s top-scorer with 40.
Earlier in Kingscliff’s innings, Farrer never really let the home side build any real substantial partnerships, picking up wickets consistently.
Cooper Barnes and Brock Ridgewell were the main destroyers, picking up three wickets each.
Both struck in their first and second overs, Barnes going on to finish with 3-19 and Ridgewell 3-18.
Richards also chimed in with 2-19, George 1-18 and Sam Brown 1-33.
