Two drivers fail breath-tests

ON FRIDAY at about 11.40pm police officers noticed a Subaru Impreza being driven in an erratic manner along Manilla Rd at Oxley Vale.

The officers followed the vehicle as it continued to drive at a speed over the posted limit, then stopped the vehicle and spoke to the 23-year-old driver.

Officers gave the driver a breath-test, which gave a positive reading and he was taken to Tamworth Police Station and charged with mid-range PCA and his licence was suspended.

A similar incident happened on Saturday when police saw a Holden Astra swerving on the roadway southbound on Goonoo Goonoo Rd in Tamworth at 7.30pm.

They stopped the vehicle and saw the 30-year-old male driver leave the vehicle and stumble around. After a positive breath-test the driver was taken to Tamworth Police Station where he was charged and his provisional licence was suspended.
