8:55am: Accident update - An Ambulance spokeswoman said a man will be taken to Tamworth Hospital for treatment while five children will also be taken to a hospital, however details of their injuries were unknown. It is believed they may have sustained seat belt related injuries.

8:40am: Accident update - Ambulance NSW says about five children are being checked over by paramedics following the two-car crash at Baan Baa. The children were in the vehicle with a man. A man was the soul occupant of the other car.

8:15am: Emergency services have responded to a two-car collision on the Kamillaroi Highway at Baan Baa this morning.
An Ambulance spokeswoman said paramedics were called to the scene at about 7.55am. Two crews were dispatched.

7:15am An off duty police officer was last night in a critical condition after a crash at Inverell. The accident happened between a car and a pushbike the officer was riding. More here.
7am: Thunderbolts Way is closed in both directions between Gloucester and Walcha to allow for a vehicle salvage operation to take place.
The road will be closed until 6pm this evening and will close again on Wednesday from 6am till 6pm.
Motorists are advised to use the Oxley Highway or New England Highway as an alternative.
A Roads and Maritime Services spokeswoman said the closure was due to an ongoing salvage operation after a truck crash in early February.

Inverell: A 53-year-old cyclist, was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital with serious injuries, after a crash on Monday morning. The man, an off-duty police officer, remains in a critical condition. Read more

TRAFFIC:
Road closure: Thunderbolts Way between Gloucester and Walcha: Tuesday, March 4, to Wednesday, March 5 (6am to 6pm) all directions closed. Motorists can use the Oxley Highway or New England Highway as alternative routes. This vehicle recovery will take place over two days and is located about 45km north of Gloucester.
