On a marvellous day, schools from as far afield as Walgett, Moree and Mungindi ventured south and east to contest the carnival at Tamworth’s South and West War Memorial Pool, Scully Park, carnival convener Karl Short said.
“We had 21 schools from as far afield as Walgett, Moree, Tenterfield, Quirindi, Walcha, Armidale, Narrabri, Inverell and Mungindi,” Short said.
“There were 380 swimmers.
“So it was a big day.
“The top three swimmers in each event also qualified for the Polding Championship at SOPAC (Sydney Olympic Aquatic Centre) on March 28.”
