A former school principal will appear in Armidale Court after being charged for the alleged indecent assault of a child in Moree.

Detectives from the Child Abuse Squad’s Ballina office commenced an investigation into the indecent assault of a 10-year-old girl (now 11) at a school in the Moree Plains area in early 2013.
In court, detectives will allege the school’s principal – a 55-year-old man (now 56) – indecently assaulted the girl in his office.
On Tuesday, detectives arrested a 56-year-old man at Armidale Police Station. He was charged with two counts of aggravated indecent assault (child aged under 16 and under the authority of the alleged offender).
The man was refused bail and is scheduled to appear in Armidale Court today
The man is longer the school’s principal.
