CENTACARE has thrown open its doors to the Tamworth public to introduce their team and showcase the assistance on offer to families.
Centacare New England North West is located in V Guy Kable Building in Marius St and is a not-for-profit organisation that has been operating across the health, welfare and community services
sectors for more than 10 years.
It offers a range of programs and services to support the community, including psychological and counselling services, family dispute resolution, parenting and family relationship education courses, mental health programs for children, young people and adults and the Personal Helpers and Mentors program.
The branch held the open day on Thursday afternoon with many people coming through the doors to enjoy a sausage sizzle and kids’ fun that included facepainting, storytelling and craft activities.
While the kids were occupied, it was a chance for adults to meet the Centacare team who were there to answer questions about what they do, offer advice on referrals to their services and programs and field suggestions on what other services people might like to see.
