Captain and CHS representative Matt Everett led the way for Oxley on Monday afternoon with a blistering 65 at the top of the order, before the regular keeper turned around and bowled a top spell.

He was helped out by two other half centuries from Harrison Pettit (58) and Matt Bryant (52) to post the big score.

The competition has some altered rules that, like all short-form games, favour the batsmen.

The last ball of the over is worth double and, after one six in an over, any other shot clearing the boundary is worth ten.

This means that if a batsmen hits two sixes in an over with the second on the last ball it is worth twenty runs.

Oxley did just that, with one batsman hitting three sixes in a row to score 36 runs off just three balls.

Tom Fitzgerald had a great all-round performance for Oxley, scoring 40 runs before taking 2-6 off just two overs.

Lachlan Sharpels also took two wickets.

In reply, Calrossy 1 also hit the 200 mark with some big hitting, although fell short when it was bowled out for 209.

Billy Buster top-scored with a solid 55, whilst Brennan Sinclair fell agonisingly short of the mark with a 49.

The other game was not such a high-scoring affair.

Calrossy 2 won the toss and went into bat, only to face some top leg-spin bowling from Lachlan Cooke who tore through the top and middle order.

Cooke took 6-18 off three overs to decimate Calrossy to be all out for 52 off just 13 overs.

Josh Strange and Zac Walters also took two wickets each.

Only Sam Hunt (16) and Russell Johnston (12) hit double figures.

Farrer 2 then went in and cruised to victory in nine overs, only losing three wickets.

Ben Trinder top-scored with 20, whilst George Harwood hit 16.

Farrer 1 forfeited to McCarthy as the side was in Narrabri playing in the Gleeson Shield.

Next Monday, OHS will take on Farrer 2, whilst Farrer 1 will play Calrossy 2, and Calrossy 1 will meet McCarthy.
