A man has been refused bail in court on intimidation charges after he allegedly approached a young boy near Coonabarabran.

Officers say about 8am, Friday a 12-year-old boy was waiting on the side of the Newell Highway, 24km south of the town when a car passed him before stopping and reversing back towards him.
It’s alleged the man asked the boy to get into the car and when the boy refused the man walked towards him.
The boy was able to pick up a stick to protect himself and the man returned to his car and drove off.
The boy boarded his bus which arrived a short time later and informed the bus driver of the incident. The driver was able to follow the car and obtain a description.
Police were contacted and began a search for the car.
About 11am Highway Patrol officers found the car on the Newell Highway about 40km south of Narrabri.
The 59-year-old Western Australian man was arrested and taken to Narrabri Police Station where he was charged with intimidation and three counts of possess prescribed restricted substance.
The man was refused bail and appeared at Moree Local Court on February 15.
He was again refused bail and will re-appear in Moree Local Court on February 24.
