Police have charged a man after an alleged assault in Woolomin near Tamworth last night.

About 7.15pm ,Thursday, a 46-year-old man was drinking in a park at Yum Yum Tree, Woolomin, when he was approached by a 26-year-old man.
The younger man allegedly grabbed the older man by the shirt and threw him to the ground.
It is alleged that he was then punched and kicked several times, before he managed to get away from the younger man.
Police were contacted and officers from Oxley Local Area Command attended commencing an investigation.
The man was taken to Tamworth Hospital for treatment to a deep cut on the back of his head, and bruising/swelling to his face.
The 26-year-old was arrested at the scene and taken to Tamworth Police Station.
He was charged with reckless wounding and refused bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court today.
