The two GNA squads, Cubs and Tigers, tackle Newcastle Knights development squads in Cessnock next weekend and the Knights teams will be well prepared.
“They’ve been training together twice a week since November,” GNA manager Scott Bone said.
“And they’ve already had two trials.
“We haven’t had anywhere near those number of training sessions, and these are our first games, but we will be competitive.”
It means tomorrow’s session is vital and will be intense.
“It’s pretty important for the boys,” he said.
“They finished off last week’s session well with an opposed game between the two squads.
“The coaches will have studied the video of that opposed session and look at correcting any mistakes as well as concentrating on the team structures.”
