The club starts a Summer Series XC today at Tamworth Bike Park, publicity officer Daniel Raffaele said.
“This series is open to first- timers as a fitness challenge or to the hardcore racers,” Raffaele said.
“It will run over the next eight weeks, with two rounds being run in Manilla.
“The format is a 45 minute cross-country style race.
“It is split into different categories depending on age and fitness.
“The track is chosen on the day and is shortened to 2-3km. Then you do as many laps as you can in the 45-minute time.
“Everyone is welcome.
“We have the Elite, Super Sports, Sports Challenge and Dirt Masters (children’s).
“The cost is gold coin donation and if you’re not a member of the Tamworth Mountain Bikers, then you pay $5 for a licence.”
He said it all starts at 6pm.
Theclub is are also preparing for an AY-UP Dusk till Dawn 12-hour night race.
“We have the world 24hr solo champion, Jason English, competing in the race,” Raffaele said.
“We’ve got some great riders coming.
“It should be awesome,” he said.
