Emergency services rushed to the rear of a Manners St home just after 10pm on Monday to find the caravan well alight.
One man, a 45-year-old, managed to escape the burning van and was taken to hospital for further treatment after receiving minor burns to his head.
Once the blaze was extinguished by fire crews, police discovered the body of a 35-year-old man inside.
Specialist forensic officers and detectives are continuing to examine the scene.
They have spoken to a number of witnesses at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious, police said.
A report will now be prepared for the coroner.
