THREE new faces will be among the staff at Tamworth Public School this year, including Belinda Judd who enjoyed her first day at the school yesterday as hundreds of teachers made their way back into classrooms around the region.

While students start filing back in through the school gates today, yesterday was a staff development day for teachers, focusing on the likes of mandatory training and management planning.
Principal Lee Preston said they were looking forward to a great year at the school, which is at capacity with about 820 students.
The numbers even meant the addition of a demountable classroom at the end of last year.
The school will welcome six kinder classes, the littlies starting tomorrow in two sessions.
Yesterday their teachers were hard at work ensuring their first day would run as smoothly as possible.
A number of Tamworth schools aren’t starting their kinders until Monday.
These include St Edward’s, South Tamworth Public, Westdale and West Tamworth, while the remainder of the classes were back at school today.
Carinya students all started back yesterday while St Nicholas’ starts everyone today.
Kindy students at Hillvue Public have until Monday to get their shoes polished and bags packed.
