He didn’t finish in the first three of a race won by Brad Roberts in a photo finish from Lachlan Mackay and Mal Ellicott.
“Yeah, I got dropped,” the veteran cyclist said.
“It was a tough race though – that wind made it tough and it did pick up during the race as well.”
Originally from Moree where he began riding, he’s been a stalwart of the TCC over the last decade.
“I’ve been racing 25 to 30 years,” he said.
“It’s good to see some of these young, new members riding well.
“Doug Pianta is an up and coming rider.
“He hasn’t been riding for very long – six months or so – but is going really good.
“His brother Jack has gone real well since he was picked up by the JT Fossey team.
“James Eason has only been riding with the club 12 months or so and he’s going well too.”
He was studying a picture that showed him leading his B Grade race into a turn during Sunday’s B Grade criterium.
What it didn’t show was another stalwart veteran, Al Bower.
“We wouldn’t race without him,” Jarvis said.
“He turns up every week. He’s the timekeeper and runs all the races.”
The TCC criteriums continue at Goddard Lane from 8am this Sunday.
