Col and Anne said they were both honoured to join the others inducted into the galaxy in the forecourt of the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre.
Anne paid tribute to her family and the Tamworth festival for her career success.
“I’m really blessed to have such a supportive family throughout my career,” Anne said.
“It’s great to be part of the Tamworth Country Music Festival.”
This completes the family of performers in the Galaxy of Stars for Anne. Col said he was also grateful to his family and the friends who’d been coming to Tamworth year after year.
“Tamworth has been so central to the momentum of my career,” he said.
“I guess it’s a way of people saying your career is worthy of recognition.”
He also joked that people could now walk on their faces in honour.
“In this industry you get so used to that sort of thing,” he said.
The Galaxy of Stars, which started in 2000, is a who’s who of country music, with icons such as John Williamson, the late Smoky Dawson, Troy Cassar-Daley and The Bushwackers already inducted.
The plaques were presented to the singer-songwriters at Toyota FanZone in Peel St and were set in place in the galaxy by yesterday afternoon.
