LORETTA Paten grew up in Narrabri but she says this gives her a unique perspective on the city she now calls home.
“It’s such a friendly and welcoming place, people are always willing to help in any way and there is still so much more that I would like to see and do in Tamworth and the surrounding areas,” she said.
Loretta, 23, is sponsored by Ibis Styles Tamworth where she works as operations supervisor.
She said her role was very diverse, from overseeing conferences and events, to accounts, reception and even the restaurant.
“I love organising and I love getting to meet new people ... and I also get to show new visitors to Tamworth how great this region really is,” Loretta said.
When she’s not working she enjoys spending time with family and friends and working with her beloved horses.
She and her partner help train and drive harness racing horses and Loretta also competes on the show circuit with a riding pony.
One day, she said they’d love to train horses from home on a full-time basis, but that’s not where her career ambitions end.
She has dreams of becoming an ambulance officer and has plans to embark on a double degree in nursing and paramedic science.
In the meantime though, the Queen of Country Music Quest is keeping her busy and she’s enjoying an exciting festival.
“This is a great opportunity to give something back to the Tamworth community for not only myself, but my workplace as well,” Loretta said.
“It’s also a great experience and an opportunity to meet a diverse range of new people.”
