Police are appealing for information from the public after a woman was sexually assaulted in Glen Innes at the weekend.

About 10.50pm, Friday a woman in her 50s was standing near her car on Hunter Street.
Police were told she was approached by a man carrying a knife and sexually assaulted.
After the assault, police say the man stole property from the victim’s handbag before running west down Heron Street, towards the New England Highway.
The woman waited in her car until first light and went to a nearby house to call an ambulance.
She was taken to Glen Innes Hospital where police were called.
A crime scene was established at the location and inquiries into the incident are continuing.
Police are interested in speaking with a man described as Caucasian in appearance, 27-28 years old, about 178cms tall, a medium build, shoulder length brown hair, a goatee, with a rounded nose and brown eyes.
