Parton has included the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre on her Blue Smoke World Tour on February 16.
Tamworth Regional Council entertainment venues manager Peter Ross said more than 1500 seats were sold yesterday, which was nearly the total pre-sale allocation.
“There’s still a few left,” he said. “We hold back plenty of tickets for the general public as well, so everyone has a chance. Within the first 45 minutes we’d sold more than 1000 tickets and by close of business we would expect them to be sold. We are gearing up for a sell-out when general public tickets go on sale tomorrow.”
People from about a four-hour drive from Tamworth had bought tickets so far, including Scone and Muswellbrook, Sawtell, Inverell, Boggabri, Moree, Narrabri and Gilgandra.
Mr Ross said it was the most intimate setting that you would see Parton in, in Australia.
There will be 4600 to 4800 tickets available in total, selling for $179.90 for gold and $99.90 for silver.
“For the front row to see Dolly, $179.90 is pretty good,” Mr Ross said.
Parton fans can buy tickets from the visitor information centre or the Capitol Theatre from 9am tomorrow.
