Mrs Turner is a regular at entering competitions in The Leader and has previously won a meet and greet with Keith Urban and books, but this win rates pretty highly with her.
“You’ve gotta be in it to win it,” she said.
“I couldn’t believe it when they rang me. I’ve been to the awards before at TRECC. Every year we try to go to one paid show, and this year it means we go to one free and can go to another as well. I would like to see The McClymonts.”
Mrs Turner entered three coupons in the hope of winning and it paid off.
Other artists Mrs Turner hopes to see include Beccy Cole, Graham Rodger and the Slim Dusty Family.
“I have to start doing some investigating about what we’re going to see,” she said.
“We’ve been to see Graeme Connors, John Williamson, Troy Cassar-Daley and The Songbirds. Each year we pick a different show.”
Mrs Turner will take her husband, Bruce, to the awards with her and said she still had to decide what to wear.
