AUSTRALIA and the United States are allies. The United States is the strongest military power in the world. The next strongest military power is China, and it is also a friend of Australia. China is building up it’s military power – twice as many soldiers as the USA and she already has an aircraft carrier.
It might not be long before China starts flexing its muscles. China is very interested in claiming the islands of the China Sea, and would be very interested in “welcoming” the Republic of Taiwan into the Peoples’ Republic Of China.
If and when push comes to shove, what will Australia do? Whose side will we be on?
