Experienced campaigners Cameron Milne (Lakeford Real Estate) and Eddie McGuirk (Gunnedah Timbers) will captain their sides, Gunnedah District Cricket association president Mike Silver said.
“Cameron Milne has represented South Australia Country whilst Eddie McGuirk was a high-profile Central North representative during the 1990s.
“Exciting allrounders Jordy Ford (Tamba Industrial) and Sam Doubleday (Pirtek) will skipper their teams.
“All sides have a mixture of experienced players, lower grade cricketers and some highly promising juniors.”
The series for the Reading Cup has been played in Gunnedah for over 30 years, with the series changing to the current T20 format five years ago.
“With the superb lights at Kitchener Park and full canteen facilities available to patrons, it promises to be another outstanding series,” Silver said.
“Crowd catch awards will again be on offer so with the short side boundaries at Kitchener Park there are sure to be lots of sixes and opportunities for patrons to cash in.
“Good crowds have watched the last few series and this summer promises to be just as exciting.”
