With their younger sister, Claire (14), they are in Tamworth this week playing for the Northwestern Wolves in the Tamworth Under 14 Carnival.
At the end of the month they are off to Sydney to play in the Marie Peden Shield Under 15 Carnival, a girls’ cricket carnival run over three days.
Gunnedah teacher Beth Hodge has organised a side in which the Inverell sisters will be keen participants.
But the trio, as well as younger sister Anna (12) are all keen cricketers.
Kate and Sarah played in the Australian Girls’ Under 15 Championships earlier this season, Kate for ACT and Sarah for NSW.
NSW won the tournament and Sarah, who took nine wickets for NSW during the tournament, was named in the honorary Australian side.
Kate’s ACT side finished fourth but she also took a few wickets and “scored a few runs”.
This week they are hopeful of scoring more runs and grabbing wickets for the Wolves in their Tamworth Under 14 Carnival.
On Monday, Claire did just that, taking 2-23 from her five overs of off-spin against Clarence.
Yesterday, Kate snared 1-13 for the Wolves against Tamworth.
