The kids – from across the north-west and all aged between eight and 11 years – will join more than 3000 of their contemporaries for the NSW Cuboree this week.
Held every three years, the Cuboree is a week of fun and fellowship where Cubs take part in challenging activities to boost their confidence and hone leadership skills.
Inverell Cub Scout Ben Cox described the event as a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” and said he was “very excited to be going”.
North West Region Cub commissioner Dea Mackintosh said the Scout movement remained a invaluable part of many children’s lives.
“I have seen children who are lacking confidence blossom,” she said. “I think every child should take part in it.”
