A SOUTH Tamworth man has been left battered and bruised after he was attacked while walking home.

The 21-year-old had been out drinking and was on his way home when he was set upon by four men on Saturday night.
The attack happened in the Gasweld car park, off Ebsworth St just before midnight.
The man tried to defend himself before the group fled on foot towards Bridge St.
Police attended the scene and spoke with the victim who suffered bruising in the attack.
The four offenders are described as Aboriginal in appearance but no further description was given.
