It upset the competition leaders 8-1.
Southgate then defeated the U16s 11-4, with Laarn White and Reece Rowbottom the chief goal-scorers.
White netted four and Rowbottom three.
He initiated the scoring for Southgate, finding the back of the net with just under four minutes to go in the first quarter.
Josh Nugent scored not long after to make it 2-nil at the first break.
Goals were hard to come by in the second quarter, with Murray Brown the only player to get on the scoresheet. His goal gave Southgate a three-goal lead at half-time.
It then came out firing in the third quarter, sinking six to really kick away. White was responsible for three of those and Rowbottom two.
The 16s took the honours in the final quarter 3-1 but the game was gone by then.
Earlier, Sam Crelley gave Eco Energy a 1-nil lead after the first quarter.
Jordan Sharpe then pushed the advantage out to three at half-time.
The Tigers finally got on the scoreboard in the final minute of the third quarter through Dale Scott but any thoughts of them getting back into the game were quashed by Eco Energy in the final quarter.
It put the polish on the win with another four goals.
