About 9.30am a swarm of Tamworth Public School students, wearing blue uniforms and matching floppy hats, made their way up Brisbane St, crossing over Marius St en route to their annual presentation day at Tamworth Town Hall.
Deputy principal Annie Everingham said the school enlisted the help of the police this year to reduce the safety risks.
“Normally it would take some time to get them over there as staff would have to take one class over, rush back, wait for the lights to change, take another class over and rush back and do it all again and we didn’t want to rush,” she said.
“We’re very obliged.
“We left at 9.30am and the presentation started at 10am. We got there nice and early this year and the children were seated before the event started.”
