Over 30 people took to the green for the annual ham and bowls social night to kick off the season.
Club vice president Dick Russell said it was a great way to introduce new and social members to the club.
“It was a social night for Christmas and it is just good fun,” Russell said.
“There are a few people here who have never played before and that is what it is about.”
The players still had that competitive edge as nine hams were up for grabs for the best performers – winners and losers alike.
Another two hams and some other goods were also raffled off as the night ended and the sun went down.
During the day, the fishing club also held its annual Christmas bowls day with a good crowd attending.
“We will be holding social Christmas bowls every weekend this month, with everyone and anyone invited to get involved,” Russell said.
The club will hold its presentation night on December 14 with a variety of awards to be presented.
Luke Russell is hot favourite to win the Bowler of the Year after winning the Club Singles as well as having success at the district titles.
