About 30 members from the local chapter of the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club will ride from Tamworth to Manilla as part of their Blue Ribbon Ride and Show weekend.
The weekend will culminate in a show and shine event in Fitzroy St on Sunday morning.
Event co-organiser Ray Fox said the reason for the fundraiser was simple.
“We’re old blokes and we’ve got old bikes,” Mr Fox said.
“Prostate cancer research is such a good cause and we thought it was worth doing.”
All riders, regardless of age or make of bike, are invited to join tomorrow’s ride, which will leave from the BP South on Goonoo Goonoo Rd at 9am.
The ride will go via Lake Keepit before riders have lunch in Manilla.
A continuous raffle will also be held on the day.
Mr Fox said the group’s passion for Japanese-made bikes stemmed back to the 1970s.
“In the ’70s, Pommy bikes had a bad name, so we all learned to ride on Japanese bikes,” he said.
“They were reliable, cheap and didn’t leak oil.”
