FANCY yourself as a fashionista?
The Northern Daily Leader has launched an exciting new fashion stakes to coincide with next Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup meeting at Tamworth Jockey Club.
Called the Hot 50, the competition will capture Tamworth’s best dressed guys and gals at the popular race meeting and see their photographs featured in our newspaper and online.
A makeshift studio will be set up on course next Tuesday, where a Leader photographer will take a head-to-toe snap of racegoers in all their finery.
Each of the “Hot 50” will be designated a number and readers can vote – on our Facebook page or in the paper – for who they think is the most sartorially elegant.
Great prizes are up for grabs for the winners.
For those ladies in need of a fashion hot tip, Just Irresistible co-owner Kylie Maizey said fascinators, floral prints and high heels were walking off the shelves this season.
“Peplun waists are really in this year and floral and bright colours are very popular,” Ms Maizey said.
“High heels can be a little uncomfortable at the races but everyone seems to love them at the moment.Lace has also been really big.”
