PULLING on a fire uniform is not the only way to assist residents affected by the Newcastle, Sydney, Blue Mountains and Wollongong bushfires who’ve lost everything.
The Salvation Army needs money for their NSW Bushfire Appeal, rather than goods.
“At this stage we are only accepting cash donations as this allows us to aid the community immediately,” Salvation Army Major Jeff Winterburn said.
“This also allows the people affected to recover with dignity by purchasing items they need most, which, in turn, injects much needed funds into the local economy.”
To donate to the Salvation Army Bushfire Appeal, visit www.salvos.org.au, call 137 258 or donate in person at any Woolworths store or Westpac bank branch.
Woolworths will match public donations for the next two weeks.
