AS A crowd of thousands watched from the ground, member for New England Barnaby Joyce jumped out of a plane on Saturday.
Mr Joyce took a leap of faith when he was convinced to exit a perfectly good aircraft at about 10,000 feet at the Festival of Flight at Tamworth Airport.
There to watch his jump were family members and members of The Nationals along with thousands of his constituents and a collective sigh of relief rippled through the crowd as he landed as planned.
Mr Joyce was also relieved to be back on solid ground when he rejoined the crowd.
The jump was part of the festival’s flying display which included aerobatics by Wing Commander Tony Blair, formation flying with the Russian Roolettes and aerobatics by Walcha’s David Salter.
One of the skydivers took a video of the jump on a GoPro and readers can watch Mr Joyce jump’s in all its glory on our website at www.northerndailyleader.com.au with the video uploaded mid-morning today.
