THERE were molls, dolls, flappers and snuggle pups – and maybe even the odd bottle of bootleg.
Tamworth’s Town Hall stepped back to the Roaring Twenties on Saturday night when St Edward’s Primary School held a Great Gatsby-themed ball.
More than 160 parents, teachers and school supporters frocked up and partied down at the event, one of the most successful balls in the school’s history.
St Edward’s teacher and co-organiser Alex Rasche said the charm of the 1920s, and the popularity of The Great Gatsby film, made for a memorable night.
“Everyone really got into it and I think the fashion of that era is really making a comeback, especially with the ladies,” Ms Rasche said.
“It was a great night for parents and supporters of the school to come together and have a big dance.”
Seven-piece band Splash Pool kept guests jiving, while life-sized cardboard cut-outs of The Great Gatsby stars – including crowd favourite Leo Di Caprio – added a unique dimension to festivities.
