A TODDLER has been airlifted to hospital after she nearly drowned in Tamworth.
The two-year-old girl was pulled from a bathtub in a Phillip St home about 6.15pm on Thursday.
Ambulance paramedics were called to the scene to reports a patient was drowning, to find the little girl conscious and breathing.
She was rushed to Tamworth hospital in a serious condition.
Shortly afterwards, the Newcastle-based Westpac Rescue Helicopter flew a specialist neo-natal team from John Hunter Hospital to Tamworth, which arrived about 10.30pm.
They treated the girl before airlifting her to John Hunter Hospital in the early hours of yesterday morning, where she remains.
