TAMWORTH residents and businesses have again been warned about dodgy tradesmen and fly-by-nighters.
NSW Fair Trading issued the warning yesterday, saying a gang of travelling conmen with Irish accents was offering line-marking of car parks and other painting services.
Fair Trading Commissioner Rod Stowe said the group was reportedly cold-calling businesses, including schools and clubs, with a sales pitch of a special price for a same-day job.
“The group members are aged in their 20s to mid-30s and are driving a small econo-type van. Fair Trading received numerous complaints about the group in late 2012 and earlier this year,” Mr Stowe said.
