THIS is what you call dedication to the job.
We all know the women at Milestones Early Learning Centre love kids – they work with them every day – but no one expected this.
In a remarkable twist of fate, the centre’s staff have given birth to eight children in the past three months – and they’ve all been baby girls.
Owner Narissa King welcomed her second child, Georgia, as part of the baby boom, while Melissa McDonald had her fourth – Ruby, Melissa Gwatkin her third – Paige, and Kelly Bird her second – Willow.
Meanwhile, Karlee Attenborough has welcomed little Mahalia, Sarah Hartge has brought Scarlet May into the world and Thalia Purdon has had Harper.
Mrs King said the influx of bubs was being blamed on “something in the water”.
“We ended up with nine pregnant and two more announced they were pregnant since then, so we’ll have 11 pregnancies in 12 months,” she said.
“We’re bringing in new enrolments up to 100 per cent, anyway.”
Mrs King said being early childhood teachers helped the mothers with their babies.
“When it comes to their own, they have extra experience,” she said.
Mrs King said she didn’t know if the other mothers were trying for more children in a couple of years, but if so it could cause another baby boom.
