THERE might be an extreme fire alert for some other parts of the state today but regional residents should see some nice spring weather.
Temperatures will range from about 28 degrees at Moree to 25 degrees at Tamworth and Quirindi down to about 18 degrees at Guyra and 20 at Armidale.
The fire danger across the north west slopes remains very high and for the tablelands and plains high.
While there’s no total fire bans in place, fire permits have been suspended in some zones, particularly New England, for today and tomorrow.
A spokeswoman said hot, dry and windy conditions forecast for the tablelands led to the suspension.
A review of conditions for Friday and the weekend will come tomorrow.
