THE Tamworth Westpac Rescue Helicopter Ball, which was initially scheduled for Sunday, has been postponed until early next year.
The Bowties and Boots Ball, starring The McClymonts, was to be held on Sunday.
However, Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service general manager Richard Jones said the unusual Sunday timing conflicted with other interests of many regular ball patrons.
“We will reschedule for early in the new year, to avoid clashes with many other upcoming events in the next couple of months,” he said.
Mr Jones said organisers would attempt to contact everyone who had booked, but those who had already bought a ticket were welcome to contact the service on 6764 9400.
He said money raised from the ball, along with other local events, ensured none of the hundreds of people who were transferred to medical care each year had to pay for the service.
“This outstanding ongoing support convinced the NSW government recently to provide funding for doctors and paramedics to be permanently located at our Tamworth base from 2015, to improve the service to the community,” Mr Jones said.
