A TAMWORTH teenager has been taken back to jail for breaching parole after a random traffic stop.
The 19-year-old was stopped by Oxley Highway Patrol after allegedly running a stop sign at the intersection of William and Denison streets in West Tamworth yesterday morning.
Police allege the man failed to produce his licence and provided a false name.
The officer was able to establish his true identity as further checks revealed the man was wanted on a revocation of parole warrant.
He was arrested at the scene and charged with a number of traffic offences.
These included providing false particulars, driving without a licence and driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.
He’s been returned to the care of Corrective Services to serve out the remainder of his prison sentence and will appear in Tamworth Local Court later this month in connection with the traffic offences.
