ALTHOUGH damaging, the stormy conditions that hammered the district yesterday brought with it some welcome rain.
Precipitation was light to 5pm yesterday, but forecast thunderstorms overnight were expected to boost rain gauge numbers.
Narrabri recorded the highest rainfall with 6.6mm, followed by Moree with 4.8mm, Gunnedah reached 3.2mm, Tamworth 2.6mm, while Armidale received just a sprinkling to 5pm yesterday with 0.4mm recorded.
Today will see a more pleasant day, with mild winds and sunny conditions prevailing, Sky Weather’s Kenny Heatley said.
Temperatures are set to drop considerably tomorrow, with Tamworth forecast to reach just 21 degrees, before the mercury shoots up again nearing 30 degrees for the weekend.
