A man will re-appear in court next week after allegedly escaping custody at Moree Court yesterday.
Police said about 4pm a 26-year-old man was found guilty of an assault-related offence in Moree District Court.
It’s alleged the man jumped out of the dock and ran from the courtroom and was chased and apprehended by correctional officers about 50m away.
He was returned to Moree Police Station where he was charged with escaping lawful custody.
The man re-appeared before Moree Local Court today where bail was refused.
He will appear in Moree Local Court again via video-link on Monday.
