It will keep getting warmer and warmer this week – and today will be the start of 30- degree tops for many centres.
Hot northerly winds will drive the warm weather.
Today’s top temperature for Tamworth is set to be 30 degrees Celsius, then 31 tomorrow and 32 on Thursday.
Moree is set to be warmer still, with temperatures over the next three days at 33 degrees, 34, then 35.
Narrabri can expect 32, 33 and 34 degrees.
South and West Tamworth War Memorial Swimming Pool opened for the swimming season yesterday. It’s always the first pool in the Tamworth Regional Council area to do so.
“We always open at the start of the school holidays,” pool supervisor Cameron McFarlane said.
He said they had a brilliant start to the season yesterday; about 100 people came through the gates and they sold about 20 season passes.
“It’s a very good day for the first day ... The behaviour’s (also) been great,” he said.
