A DINOSAUR prowling through a hospital ward is not something you see every day, but for the kids at Tamworth hospital yesterday that’s exactly what they got.
The two walking dinos – juvenile T-Rexes – are robotically controlled but with a human inside, making them amazingly lifelike and with sound effects that just enhance their fear factor.
They are part of a Jurassic Park-type display at The Atrium in Peel St where kids can get up close and personal with the prehistoric predators for the duration of the school holidays.
Yesterday though one of the T-Rexes took time out for a special appearance at the kids’ ward at the hospital, organised through Ronald McDonald House.
Judging by the kids’ faces it was something they won’t soon forget and took their minds off where they were, at least for a while.
