POLICE have launched an investigation after three cars went up in flames in one night.
Just after 8.30pm on Sunday Tamworth police were called to reports of a car fire on Werris Creek Rd at Warral.
On arrival they found a green Holden Barina was well alight.
Fire and Rescue NSW were called in to to douse the blaze but police believe the car had been abandoned after an earlier accident.
A silver Commodore sedan also met a similar fate after it erupted in flames in Frank St about midnight on Sunday.
The owner parked the car in the driveway about 11.30pm, but noticed it was on fire about half an hour later.
Fire crews were able to extinguish the blaze pretty quickly but the cause of the fire is still unknown.
Meanwhile a Ford utility was destroyed yesterday after it caught alight in View St in Gunnedah.
A neighbour was able to bring the blaze under control before firefighters could extinguish it.
All three fires are under investigation by police and anyone with information is urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
