THE entire Moree Plains Shire Council area will be moved into the Northern Tablelands electorate under a reshuffle of state electoral boundaries.
The NSW Gazette announced the sweeping changes on Wednesday afternoon with the newly formed electorates coming into effect for the March 2015 election.
Under the new changes the Northern Tablelands electorate will gain the Moree local government area and lose Walcha to the Tamworth electorate.
Tenterfield will move to the Lismore electorate.
While the Barwon electorate loses Moree the gazette says it will extend further west and include the Broken Hill local government area.
The Barwon electorate will still retain Narrabri Shire Council which neighbours Moree.
The changes were announced after lengthy public consultation which began in February.
