TAMWORTH Golf Club is taking registrations for another Twilight competition.
The competition, which begins Monday, October 7, had record numbers last year when 350 players teed off in more than 4000 rounds of golf.
Club officials are hoping to better that this season.
Twilight is a social competition, with teams of 15 entering in a nine-hole stableford format.
The best eight scores handed in each week count towards the cumulative score.
There are two competitions – one Tuesday and one Thursday – although games can be played on any day of the week at any time, as long as scorecards are picked up from the Tamworth Pro Shop.
Barnco Automotive Repairs and Redimix Concrete are long-time sponsors and both businesses also enter teams.
They encourage other businesses to enter into the competition which is also a bit of fun.
Players can play as many rounds as they like in a week, with the best score going towards the team’s required eight.
Tamworth Golf Club Captain Ken Mundy said it is a good social competition with a fun, social atmosphere.
He urges golfers of all abilities to enter.
He said at the end of March the top four teams from the two competitions will go into a finals series with prizes for the top four teams in both divisions as well as overall winner.
Every week will include nearest the pin and ball competitions.
A presentation night is also held after the season on April 4 where the winners and other prizes will be announced.
“It is a huge event and one of the best nights of the year,” Mundy said.
Entry costs $10 for members or $13 for non members with the extra $3 going towards social membership.
Registrations must be paid by September 23. For any more information or to register, contact the Pro Shop.
