A SOUTH Tamworth man has been charged with drug offences after a daylight raid by police.
Oxley detectives pounced on the home in South Tamworth about 4pm on Wednesday afternoon after a tip-off from the public.
Detective Senior Constable Todd Pascoe told The Leader a search warrant was executed on a home.
“Detectives stopped two people leaving the house prior to the warrant after conducting surveillance on the house,” he said.
“A quantity of drugs believed to be cannabis was allegedly found on them and then we executed the search warrant.
“Inside there was a male and female occupant and an amount of cannabis was found along with scales, bags and other items.
“An amount of cash was also seized from the premises.”
A 31-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Tamworth Police Station where he was charged with three offences including supplying a prohibited drug, possessing a prohibited drug and dealing with the suspected proceeds of crime.
He was granted conditional bail by police to appear in Tamworth Local Court on September 30.
“Police will allege the man has been supplying drugs on a regular basis from the premises,” Detective Senior Constable Pascoe said.
“The information was supplied from the public about suspected drug activities.
“Police acted on that information and conducted an operation involving police surveillance which culminated in a search warrant.”
Investigations into the matter are continuing.
