MOREE childcare worker Charmaine Reading has been honoured with a scholarship through the NSW government’s early childhood teaching program.
Nationals MP for Barwon Kevin Humphries said the scholarship reflected dedication and passion for the early childcare sector in the local community.
The scholarships are for diploma-qualified early childhood educators to upgrade their qualifications to bachelor degree level and provide recipients with up to $10,000 to support study costs.

“Early childhood is my passion and this scholarship will certainly help me to attain my professional goals,” she said.
“These scholarships provide a great incentive for rural workers to complete higher education and I would encourage all my peers to apply for one of these scholarships.”
The successful candidates are working in early childhood services all over NSW, in regional, remote and metropolitan areas, and more than half are working in disadvantaged communities.
