A man who jumped a court dock and escaped from Corrective Services officers in Moree has been recaptured in Sydney.
Michael Pitt, 33, had been on the run since he fled the Moree Courthouse on August 24.
Police say Pitt caught a taxi outside the court and fled when it stopped in the Wilga Pl area.
Corrective Services officers pursued Pitt on foot before a female officer suffered minor injuries.
A massive man hunt was launched but police failed to find any sign of him.
Barwon police issued a state-wide alert to help track down the 33-year-old and after ongoing inquiries Redfern police attended an address at Pitt St in Waterloo just before 8pm last night where they arrested Pitt.
He was taken to Botany Bay Police Station and charged with a number of offences including resist arrest and escape lawful custody.
He was refused bail by police and will front Central Local Court today.
